FAQ's
WHAT IS ASTHMA?
Asthma is an illness affecting our airway
tubes. Those small tubes are instrumental in carrying air into and out of
our lungs.
WHO GETS ASTHMA?
People of all ages may suffer from Asthma.
There is a high percentage of under 5 year old children who suffer from
Asthma. This happens due to over sensitive air tubes. This, in turn, makes
the muscle around the tubes tighten, thus narrowing the tubes, restricting
the amount of air coming in and going out. It is a fact that quite a few
young people grow out of Asthma. There is also a high proportion of elderly
people suffering from Asthma.
FIRST SYMPTOMS OF ASTHMA
Coughing.
Shortage of Breath.
Wheezing.
Slight Whistling Noise.
These are all symptoms of Asthma. Please refer to your Doctor for further
information.
WHAT CAUSES ASTHMA?
It is difficult to state the real cause of
Asthma, as Doctors are still trying to find the cause.
Pollution does not help an Asthmatic person.
It is known to be hereditary, similar to other ailments.
Pets have also been considered an added risk for those suffering from Asthma.
Smoking is another cause to agitate Asthma.
Pollen can also agitate the Asthma sufferer.
