A TEENAGER has raised thousands of pounds for charity by getting her walking boots on.
Abigail Lowes, 17, of Broad Hinton, walked 192 miles coast to coast from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay with her mother, Vicki, to raise funds for Rodbourne-based Asthma Relief.
She also held a cake sale and organised a music concert to raise funds, as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, and has reached a total of £2,050.
“I found out about the charity and, as I am asthmatic, I decided it would be nice to raise money for them,” she said.
“The walk was very strenuous but amazing.” Asthma Relief donates nebulisers, which administer medication as a fine mist so patients can inhale it, to people across the country.
